Even so I am pleasantly surprised to find that I am content with what I have and so my dilemma - what to post today? As all my current craft posts are in draft stages..
And then I remembered that what I really really want

I had one of these when I was younger and it was fabulous! And I really want that nostalgic little digital pet back in my life, and not in an app on my phone as that hasn't got that same childhood memory, the touch and the feel and scooping up digital poop.
But have you seen how much they cost these days?! Over on Argos they are going for £22 - there is NO WAY they used to cost this much when I was younger or my mum would never have bought me one! I really want one but unfortunately the (tiny) grown-up part of my brain is saying you will get bored and stop scooping that poop when required so alas I don't own one...but one day...
Did you have a tamagotchi when you were younger? In fact - do you have one now?
I can vividly remember my first tamagotchi experience, a group of us from primary school were on our way to a dancing thing, and my friend had one and I remember thinking, oh my god a pet you can carry in your pocket!?!?!
ReplyDeleteThe next morning I rushed out to get one to find them sold out everywhere, so my mam got me a cheap imitation one from the dodgy discount electrical store, I don't think I ever got a proper one but always wanted one!
Now you mention it I probably had one of the cheaper ones too...alas we are still waiting for our first real tamagotchis!! I tell you what everyone will have a story just like that to tell! About tamagotchis...and yoyos...and pokemon cards.....and those aliens in egss... kids these days don't know what they are missing!
DeleteI had one that someone got me, possibly from abroad, that was actually a baby not a pet. Thinking about it now it probably wasn't a great idea because I'm sure I accidentally let it die a few times :S
ReplyDeletehaha I know for a fact mine died a lot - which is why I can't bring myself to buy one now..but they come back to life...right?
DeleteYou have no idea how much I want a Tamagotchi again. I'm sure it was less then £20 for them before. I had the original one and one that was shaped like a dog. I used to even sneak them into school to make sure they didn't die! x
ReplyDeleteha that is what dutiful-tamagotchi owners should do! alas I must have been neglectful ... I know surely they can't have always been so expensive - i tell you what no doubt hipster culture has something to do with the increased price
